CMS No Place For Education

|

I’m pretty sure school board member Richard McElrath didn’t mean for it to come out that way, but a motion he made to amend an amendment to the district’s anti-bullying policy sure sounded that way.

As originally proposed the revised language read: “All persons on CMS campuses or present at CMS-sponsored events are expected to conduct themselves in ways that promote a positive, educational environment.”

McElrath wanted “educational environment” shortened to plain old “environment”, reasoning that CMS-sponsored events like football and basketball games weren’t what he considered an educational environment.

A majority of the board agreed, and the approved language eliminated “educational” from CMS’ environment.
