Paul Pulls Plug On Primaries Pursuit
So it’s now officially official, Texas Congressman Ron Paul is suspending his latest presidential campaign. In an email to followers – oh sorry, I mean supporters – Dr. Paul makes clear that he has no money left in the war chest and he will no longer appear in states ahead of their primaries. He did encourage the Paulinistas to continue their efforts to elect delegates and take over state Republican parties across the country.
Over the past 20 years or so I’ve had the opportunity to chat with Ron Paul multiple times; hours worth of discussion if I were to actually sit down and crunch the numbers. I like Ron Paul and I have tremendous admiration for his professed love of the Constitution. I support his efforts to reign in the Fed and take control of our economy. Like most rational thinking people, I shudder when he begins to talk about foreign affairs and national defense. At those times he sounds a lot more like Neville Chamberlain than Winston Churchill.
I wish him well and I hope that his supporters will think long and hard about their next move.
