Tossing Politics Out The Window
I can count on one hand – OK, maybe one or two fingers – the number of times I’ve agreed politically with Susan Burgess. She’s a raging liberal and hardcore leftist who pushes an agenda that embraces expansive and expensive government.
That said, Burgess always finds time to return phone calls from reporters, is willing to talk on the record when other politicians run screaming from a room, and has dedicated, for good or ill depending on your point of view, a lion’s share of her time to public service.
Susan is also a genuinely fun person to share a drink or two with, no matter what your politics, who has an obvious love for family and community.
As Burgess continues her battle with a cancer that doctors say is spreading, she and her family remain in our thoughts and prayers, and I’d encourage you to keep them in yours, as well.
