Obama’s Arizona Arrogance
A few years back Arizona passed SB 1070, which did a few things. It never once allowed law enforcement officials to simply stop anyone based on skin color and demand their papers. The law said that illegal aliens in Arizona were violating state law as well as Federal law. Well the Supremes ruled that provision was a no-go. They did not support the idea of illegal aliens being in the state, they simply said that immigration was a federal, not a state, issue; which is not a surprise at all.
The part of SB 1070 that the court upheld allows cops to check the ID of those they reasonably suspect of being in the country illegally, only local law enforcement apparently won’t be getting any help from the Obama administration in helping to actually enforce the law. Within 24 hours of the High Court’s ruling, the Obama administration revoked its agreement that allows the state to partner with the federal government in enforcing immigration law. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer rightfully concluded that Obama had “demonstrated anew his utter disregard for the safety and security of the Arizona people.”
The section of Arizona law the high court upheld is being spun by advocates for the illegal alien invaders as fascistic, but I am routinely asked for ID. If I wish to buy a bottle of wine for my lovely bride, I have to show my license. When I tried to pick up some dry cleaning without my claim check, I needed to show ID. Guess I should have told them I was an illegal.
